Meet Your Executive 2025

Steve started diving in 2012, when after graduating from university decided that he finally had the time and disposable income to embark on his lifelong dream of Scuba Diving. Unfortunately; soon after getting certified he discovered that he had neither. He loves sharing his passion for all things underwater and hearing everyone’s amazing stories. His favourite diving spot is Joe Lake, where he knows all the fish by name.

I got involved in diving because it was an activity that my wife and I had been talking about for a while. We were certified in 2022 and I really enjoy the peacefulness of the underwater world and the adventures SCUBA has permitted me to partake in. The Dolphins also allowed me to find new friends in the buddies that I encountered on mentor dives and dive trips. I am very grateful to the Dolphin Aquatic Club for adding this new dimension to my life.

John joined the Dolphin Aquatic Club in 1975 and certified in 1976. He certified as an instructor in 1980 and is currently an Instructor Trainer Evaluator (ITE). He has served as the Club’s Training Director, vice president for several terms and president for several terms. He is currently on the Constitution Committee for the third time and serving as treasurer this year.

Josee Viau, Secretary

For me, diving was a way to spend time with my husband doing something we both liked. I was certified with him and although I didn’t take to diving as much as he did, I enjoy the companionship of the dive club members and the non-diving people that come out to the different events and meetings. The social aspect is what I love about the club.

Dale Vaillancourt, Equipment / Sales / Insignia

Dale is an ACUC Rescue Diver, a HOG-Certified regulator technician, and is also IANTD-certified as a VIP technician. He enjoys dive adventures, be them small or large, and loves the comradery of the dive club.

Danny Gregoris, Training

Patricia Striewe, Membership Director

Patricia, a PADI Divemaster with over 375 dives, enjoys everything underwater including being neutrally buoyant (weightless), hearing nothing but bubbles, being in the presence of all kinds of marine life and exploring amazing shipwrecks. She readily volunteers for the club, having held various positions on the executive board, and takes great pleasure helping instructors facilitate diver training. She loves watching the joy on peoples’ faces when they breathe underwater for the first time.

Justin Vaillancourt, Immediate Past President / Communications / Community Liaison

Justin is an ACUC Divemaster and DAN Instructor. He enjoys exploring Ontario’s rich marine history & dive physics and physiology. His dream is to join an Arctic or Antarctic diving expedition.
