The Sudbury Dolphin Aquatic Club is a not-for-profit organization that is run solely by volunteers who are dedicated to the sport of SCUBA diving. Formed in 1958, we are one of the oldest training diving clubs in Ontario.

Jackson Young, President
Certified in 2003, Jackson has progressed in the DAC gaining diving experience and certifications. Jackson holds numerous specialty certifications through different agencies and is an ACUC Instructor Trainer Evaluator. He continually trains and takes courses to gain more exposure and experience to progress as a diver. Jackson has held various executive positions including multiple terms as President and Vice President of the Club.
John Varney, Vice President
John joined the Dolphin Aquatic Club in 1975 and certified in 1976. He certified as an instructor in 1980 and is currently an Instructor Trainer Evaluator (ITE). He has served as the Club's Training Director, vice president for several terms and president for several terms. He is currently on the Constitution Committee for the third time and serving as vice president this year.
Rob Rehill, Treasurer
Rob has been bitten by the diving bug and reaps the benefits this clubs provides divers. A relatively new diver who logs in many dives and adds to his knowledge via Advanced, Rescue and Dive Master training. His favourite dives are the ones he hasn't done yet.
Justin is an ACUC rescue diver with interests in diving physiology and lake biology. As the community liaison, he is always looking to get the club involved in community science and projects. His short-term goals involve beginning to explore the world of technical diving. His long-term goal is to participate in an arctic or antarctic diving expedition.
Mel was been diving since 2013. She has dove many locations locally and internationally with her favourite dive partner, Jackson. Mel oversees the Club's newsletter, The Sound, the Facebook group, and this website.
Norm has been enjoying the sport of diving since 2007. He became a Master Diver with SSI and is currently a Dive Master with ACUC. Norm enjoys going out with the club as much as he can in the Summer months and enjoys the warm Caribbean waters in the winter.
Tyson became a certified scuba diver in 2006 under PADI. club. He went on to become Advanced & this year he is working on his Rescue Diver certification. New to the club in 2019, Tyson has wasted no time getting in club dives and aspires to do plenty more.
Diving under the ACUC & PADI banners since 1976, Danny mentored under experienced local divers, taking any dive course he could. Started instructing in 1981 and was past president a few times. Still learning and back to instructing for the club Danny has recently added DAN Instructor Oxygen for Diving Injuries & Basic Life Support First Aid CPR & AED. Danny Instructs ACUC & DAN classes, works on developing diver programs for DAC & ACUC, and updates the club's First Aid equipment and training.
Shelley and her family have a passion for the water and the beauty of Northern Ontario. Snorkeling and a chance encounter with a Dolphin member started her passion for SCUBA. In 2013 Shelley and her husband (Terry) became certified OWD. In 2014 she became certified as Advanced/Rescue diver and has been instrumental in recording all diver data on certification checkout dives.
